EcoFactor: Designer kitchen with a unique blend of technology and eco-friendliness.

From tabletop cooking to water temperature settings to under table compost box, Philips’ new Green Cuisine has everything that is needs to make your cooking area “green.” Unveiled at the Simplicity 2008 in Moscow, this futuristic kitchen makes the old dream of cooking and eating at the same place come true.

The “Green Cuisine” is based around a table with a unique ability to cook anything, anywhere. Sensors mounted on the table detect any of your favorite dishes and apply the heat directly under the dish. The heat settings here can be controlled through touch-sensitive LED panels. Not only heating, this kitchen will work absolutely as brilliantly in cooling down your favorite drink as well. Water usage can also be controlled by selecting the temperature at which you want the water to ooze out from the taps provided. Even your kitchen waste can be put to good use, as this amazing kitchen also integrates an under-the-table composter, which in turn enables you to grow herbs on the table itself. Philips hopes that your house can boast of “The Green Cuisine” in another 3-5 years.

The Dark Side:

This hi-tech eco kitchen can do wonders for all the eco folks out there, but only if they are comfortable with some burnt fingers and clothes. We are confident that in the next 3-5 years, Philips will address these issues.
