Eco Factor: Sustainable house designed to maximize the use of natural sources.
Designed by OBRA Architects the Centrifugal Villa is an energy-saving house that maximizes the use of natural sources for sustainability. The house is arranged around a hollow center to increase indoor space and provides a string of subsequent spaces indoors.
The house is designed as a wood post-and-beam structure, while the exterior is much detailed with vertical board to encourage a rhythmic flow around the elevations. The dwelling utilizes geothermal heating to reduce the energy consumed during cold winter months and incorporates several passive energy-saving technologies.
A narrow-section interior allows for maximum use of natural ventilation and a sequence of openings and windows lets in daylight to reduce the need for artificial lighting.
