Traditional computing systems can be both unattractive and expensive, but ViewSonic’s latest development can answer both these problems with an added benefit of consuming less desk space. The VPC 100 PC is sans a tower PC unit which makes it easy to install and removes the cable mess associated with normal desktop PCs. The unique AIO design also reduces the use of plastic, and the company claims that the PC consumes 45% less power than conventional desktop computers.
The $599 system boasts a slim design, which makes it ideal for a wide range of applications. The system comes with a built-in Intel Atom 1.64GHz processor and Microsoft Windows XP home. Other features integrated into the system are four high-speed USB 2.0 ports, DVD/CD Super Multi RW optical disk drive, 4-in-1 card reader, wireless connectivity within any 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi network, integrated LAN, 1.3MP webcam, two built-in 2.5W speakers, QWERTY keyboard and an optical mouse.
