Eco Factor: Line of rechargeable batteries and solar battery charger to be made available in Asia.

Sanyo does develop some of the most stunning gadgets that rock the minds of all “green” people around the world. However, mostly the company limits the sale of these products to Japan, which leaves other green geeks hungry. Not this time though, because the company is planning to sell a complete range of eneloop rechargeable batteries and the Solar Light in Singapore, with launches in other parts of Asia to follow.

The products to march into Singapore this July include the D- and C-sized rechargeable batteries, the Universal battery charger and the Solar Light. While the universal charger and the rechargeable batteries will bring the number of batteries discarded every year under control, what interests us most is the availability of the solar light, which is a flashlight that can be configured according to the requirements of the user. The $170 Solar Light also doubles as a trendy looking USB gadget charger. The built-in battery pack of the Solar Light can be recharged in 15-30 hours of daylight or in 5 hours using the AC adapter.
