Eco Gadgets: Recycled Macintosh II couch looks sturdy, might not be comfortable

Eco Factor: Macintosh II computers recycled into a couch.

Computer manufacturers are working hard to develop better systems and be the first to launch their new products. However, with these frequent advancements, older computers soon become obsolete and hence a threat to the ecosystem. Recycling old computers is not always a green process, however the Mac Store in Maryland Heights, Missouri does show a way old computers can be recycled into geeky furniture, computer buffs like me would love to posses.

The couch consists of 20 obsolete Macintosh II computers and since the computers were designed to carry heavy 20-inch monitors on top of them, it would be strong enough to hold you for a nap. Moreover, since the couch can be separated into 20 parts, it would be easier to get it up the stairs. The couch is not for sale, but considering the cost an average Macintosh II retailed for, it won’t come cheap.

The Dark Side:

The couch would be expensive and won’t be as comfortable as you would love it to be. However, it definitely is a great piece for furniture for all eco-minded individuals out there.
