Eco Factor: Gadget charger harnesses solar and wind energy.

Earlier this year we saw Kinesis debut their K2 solar and wind powered charger, which was all set to green the portable gadget market. Soon to realize the importance of a backup charging mechanism, the company has rolled out their next-gen portable gadget charger the K3. Unlike its predecessor, the K3 doesn’t just depend on renewable energy, but its lithium battery pack can be charged using the conventional grid electricity.

The K3 comes with a 4,000 mAh battery pack that is capable to recharge a cellphone about five times and an MP3 player over 10 times. The company claims that 30 minutes under the sun can give your cell talk time of over 30 minutes. The device has a USB adapter, AC plug and a 12-volt cigarette lighter plug. Weighing over 10 ounces, the K3 will be available in June for $100.
