Eco Factor: Solar-powered gadget lets visitors know the amount of energy generated by the building’s solar array.
Solar energy is by far the most utilized form of renewable energy that finds a place for itself in a wide variety of gadgets and buildings. However, there are many commercial and residential building owners that aren’t really aware of the possibilities solar energy has. Martin Willers has designed a concept gadget that has been made for solar-powered hotels, where it can educate the visitors about the true worth of solar energy generation.
The Solar Energy Eye, as the system has been named, is a motion sensor-equipped device that turns on its LED display as soon as someone crosses in front of it. Once on the device displays the total amount of energy generated by the hotel’s solar array, in terms of liters of heated water and the total amount of energy generated every minute by the solar array.
The device is studded with crystals that can let the colorful LED lights of the device get their full form. These crystals also scatter light in different ways to let the device catch the attention of the visitor.
