Eco Factor: Human-powered rake concept.
Autumn has already started to show its signs, which includes a messy garden with leaves thrown all over the place. If you’re one of those who love their gardens to be clean just like their interiors, it’s time for you to get busy and dusty.
While in a traditional rake leaves clog the teeth, electric blowers do come in handy. However, they are pretty noisy and suck up a large amount of electrical energy from the mains. Industrial designer Rury Vizcarra has tried to make the job easy, practical and green with a system dubbed Power Rake.
The Power Rake is a human powered rake that requires no fuel or electricity. As the rake is made to move forward by a push, the kinetic energy of the front wheel powers a conveyer belt that carries all those fallen leaves and deposits them in a bucket mounted toward the rear of the rake. The handle height adjustments make the system easy for anyone to use.
