Eco Factor: Energy conscious dishwasher.
Dishwashers make our lives easy, but that ease comes at the cost of a huge amount of water and energy, the two things which should be conserved for a better tomorrow. Recently we saw a compact dishwasher concept that was designed to recycle water and hence save it, and today we have a similar dishwasher from Electrolux.
The ESL2450 is perfect for designer kitchens of a small family. The “A” energy rated dishwasher has comes with all the features of a full-sized machine, but uses far less energy and water to wash items. The appliance comes with a Save Energy option, which reduces energy consumption by up to 25%. The dishwasher uses just 7 liters of water for a full load. Apart from energy and water savings when being used, the dishwasher also has an energy saving Standby mode, which uses 30% less energy if compared to full-size dishwashers. The ESL2450 should be available in a couple of months for around £490.
The Dark Side:
The dishwasher’s compact size will not make it a feasible product for large families, where more cycles will have to be used, thereby minimizing the end energy savings.
