Eco Factor: Vacuum cleaner made from 55% recycled materials consumes just 1.25KW.

Pollution is not only harsh on the environment but also makes indoors dirty as ever. Vacuum cleaners promise clean homes, but the amount of power they suck leaves the environment in jeopardy. Finally there is a way to protect your health and the environment at the same time – courtesy of Electrolux. The company has recently launched an energy-efficient vacuum cleaner that they are touting to be the greenest in the world.

Dubbed the AirMAX Öko, the vacuum cleaner sucks just 1.25KW of power, which is about 33 percent less than other cleaners available on the market. Apart from being energy-efficient, the thing that sets this machine apart from the rest is the use of 55 percent recycled materials in making its parts. The AirMAX Öko comes for $270, which should just add another star to its name.

The Dark Side:

We have to believe that the company did not work on the looks of the machine in an effort to develop the “world’s greenest vacuum cleaner.” Moreover, a reduction in power could mean less suction, which the company says is still the same because of its high-performance fans.
