Eco Factor: New MacBook is more energy efficient and recyclable.
Apple has introduced a new MacBook that the company is claiming to be the greenest MacBook ever launched by the company. This new laptop consumes less that an quarter of the of a single light bulb when it’s running.
The notebook that comes with a 13-inch display, and says no to chemicals like PVC, mercury, arsenic and brominated flame retardants. The display here uses LED backlit technology which makes it energy efficient when compared to traditional LCD screens. The notebook includes lesser number of parts that make it easy to assemble and recycle.
There is also a 41% reduction in the total packing materials, which have been made from recycled materials. The computer also makes use of some technological changes which enable it to work efficiently without gulping much electricity.
The Dark Side:
Selling for $1,299, this machine has nothing much in it apart from an “Eco Tag,” which can attract customers with high performance demand. This notebook is, however, ideal for eco-minded net surfers.
