Eco Gadgets: AIR-igator uses your air conditioner to water your garden

Eco Factor: Device captures water condensate in the AC for watering the garden.

Summer months are not just hard for you, but the same for your garden as well. Watering gardens during summers increases your utility bills and if you forget doing it, some of your plants will have to pay for it. The AIR-igator system solves both the issues by collecting condensate from air conditioners and storing it in an underground tank for watering the garden.

The simple device will be able to make over 15 gallons of water a day from a three-ton air conditioner and stores it in an underground tank. Once required the captured water can be brought on the surface with a submersible water pump with a float control. Alternatively it can also be used to signal a timer for specified watering times so you never forget to water your plants.

Since the device makes use of condensate water, which is pure it can be used for micro-irrigation where pure water is to be used. The device costs $495 and can be purchased from the AIR-igtator’s webpage.
