Eco Factor: Zero emission car with four in-hub electric motors.

Though TVR went into bankruptcy in 2006, industrial designer Niels Van Roij has designed a concept car aimed for the brand, which carries the brand’s signature looks and the curves for which TVR was known for. Dubbed the Artemis, it has a curvaceous body and graceful lines to give it a feminine look.

The car is designed to be powered by four in-hub electric motors that are powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system. The hub-motors driven Artemis embodies everything TVR stands for: unique solutions and spectacular styling. Both interior and exterior shapes are based on an evolution of TVR DNA: Elegant, feminine curves and clean surfaces. Artemis’ lightweight body and DLO’s are built from high tech engineering plastics. Downforce is provided by an under hood spoiler system. This takes air in at the frontspoiler and provides the famous TVR handling. The system also directs air to the fuelcells and cools the four hub motors. Interior styling is coherent with exterior shapes: elegant and powerful curves and the integration of three dimensional slits between surfaces.

The slits hide the head- and taillights. During the day you will see clean body work, at night unique LED signature lighting. The interior styling is executed likewise. The controls are hidden in openings in the dashboard, so the surfaces stay clean. The power to weight ratio has always been important to TVR. The Artemis has been fitted with four electro in-hub motors, powered by hydrogen fuel cells. This solution offers low weight, because of the lack of heavy engine and fluids, and a quick acceleration because electro motors deliver instant power. In the engine bay a spoiler system can be found, providing downforce. The air coming in at the front of the car is being directed over this spoiler.
