Eco Factor: Zero-emission concept car to be powered by electricity.
Futuristic auto designers always strive to bring fantastical features in cars that could make our life easy in the future. Car designers Janne Leppänen, Tuulia Miettinen, Roope Kolu, Tiemen Stelwagen and Jaap Van Der Voort have designed a car that can run on any type of road, which does include no road at all. Amphibious Hybrid, as the concept has been christened, comes with an intelligent wheel system that senses the terrain and configures the tires automatically.
The vehicle’s onboard systems continuously sense the road and alter the wheels to offer the required traction. If the car is on a normal road the tires remain normal too, but if on snow or other types of road where more traction is needed, the wheels of the car open up a little to enhance the grip. The system also enables the car to run on water by completely opening up the tires and converting them into flaps that act as a propeller.
The futuristic car is powered by batteries to keep your ride a green one. The designers accept that all those systems will come at a high cost, but they state that the cost can be pulled down by sticker advertising or by making the vehicle available for rent.
