Eco Arts: Thousands of metal cans transformed into world’s largest recycled artwork

worlds largest recycled art work

Eco Factor: The sculpture is made from reused aluminum cans.

It’s easier to join the discussion for anyone and put forth plans theoretically, but some people are born with a pragmatic approach and believe in putting into action what they conceive. An example can be sited of the recycled artwork unveiled at Seven Sisters, East Sussex, which is the largest ever in its category. A fantastic inspiration can be drawn to use the waste instead of throwing it in landfills from this piece of work that is made from 200,000 aluminum cans to mark Recycle Week June 22-28, 2009 on the part of the Coca-Cola Company.

The sculpture measures 50 meters across and is based on a 1949 summer poster from The Coca-Cola Company archives of a swimsuit-clad lady relaxing in the sun. Coke deserves appreciation for its cooperation with WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) to educate and establish recycling stations in public spaces like shopping centers, airports and theme parks. The present sculpture doesn’t only aim at recycling of metal, but encourage the same for other waste materials such as textiles, plastic and paper. Have a look at the video to get the glimpses of making of this great piece of art.
