Eco Factor: Sculpture made from recycled items.

Andrew Chase, a renowned name in the world of nature-inspired artwork, has again made news with a mechanical Steampunk giraffe made from transmission parts, electrical conduit and plumbing pipe. Connected with a complex mesh of gears and levers, the giraffe is designed to look and work in a realistic manner. All the joints rotate and lock into any specific position.

Turning a removable crank on the side body of the animal raises its long neck. Similarly, lifting the tail makes it lower its neck. The giraffe is about 6 feet tall and took about 80 hours to build. There is good news for those of you who always wanted to posses Andrew’s artwork, as this giraffe is Andrew’s first sculpture that has been put up for sale. However, owning this unique sculpture will make you $6000 poorer.
