Eco Architecture: Symbiotic Green Wall makes construction sites sustainable

Eco Factor: Vertical system designed to harvest rainwater via natural processes.

Designed by Kooho Jung and Hayeon Kelly Choi the Symbiotic Green Wall is a conceptual double-layered wall system that collects, filters and distributes rainwater and wastewater within the construction site. Water is collected between the two layers, which also contribute in absorbing heat and noise around the site.

Collected water is used to reduce construction dust and to grow grass in special pods. The wall also acts as an inviting object providing share and rest areas for construction workers. Since grass is grown on the wall, the system also acts as an air purification system that relies entirely on natural processes.

The wall also provides space for birds and carries indicators to check the level of noise, vibration and air pollution around the construction site. With natural systems, the Symbiotic Green Wall aims to make construction sites clean and sustainable.
