Eco Factor: Rainwater harvesting systems and green walls envisioned for Canada Pavilion.

The vast expanse of Canada Pavilion, which rests at around 6,000 square meters, is being envisioned to be sustainable before it welcomes 30,000 visitors per day during the Shanghai Expo 2010, which will be a six-month long event.

The $43 million plan, designed by Cirque du Soleil, will include rainwater harvesting systems to collect runoff water and rainwater for use inside the pavilion. The concept design will be anchored by open public places and surrounded by three large structures. In addition to the rainwater harvesting systems, this new design also allows for the inclusion of green walls.
