Eco Factor: Sustainable skyscraper aims for LEED Platinum certification.
Conceived by Woods Bagot Architects, the Nakheel Tower is all set to dwarf the Burj Khalifa by towering more than a kilometer in the sky by 2020. The mixed-use development will include a harbor, a cultural podium and residential districts in the heart of the New Dubai Development.
The tower aims to become a vertical city with more than 15,000 inhabitants will live and work. The Nakheel Tower incorporates a vast array of green technologies like black water treatment, storm water harvesting, reuse of fire test water, solar panels, wind turbines and several other sustainable features that will help it achieve a LEED Platinum Certification.
