Drive license free with the Renault Twizy in 2013

The year 2012, sees the introduction of Renault’s long awaited Twizy electric car in UK. The Twizy 80 model hits the dealerships on the 13th of April. Designers have used this car to test our insight of what a car should actually look like. Apart from this they are also all set to launch a second version of this upcoming car ,dubbed Twizy 45 in 2013, which will not only be the best option for the beginning drivers but will also allow a license free driving.

16 year olds could drive Renault Twizy in 2013

Renault is introducing this light weight car, with the view that it could be easily driven by the sixteen years old without a driving license. Technically speaking it’s a quadricycle that weighs 350 kilograms or even less and travels up to 28mph top speed. It offers accommodation for two occupants sitting one behind the other, hence proves to be much safer than the two wheelers for the young drivers.

The Twizy 45 is driven by an electric motor motorized by a 13kw battery and its power production is reduced to just 5.4bhp in comparison to the 17bhp of the standard 80 model, which in turn is beneficial as it increases the travel range from 60 miles to 75 miles. Renault thought of launching this model as it meets all the requirements of a new law in Britain , which allows the sixteen years old, without licenses to drive a quadricycle, but whether there will be a basic practical or theory test for this , still needs to be finalized b y the government.

The Renault Twizy 45 will cost around $6,200 when it goes up for sale in 2013 and the customers will have to take out a subscription for lease of the battery starting from $45 per month, which will depend on the mileage and leasing period. Twizy 45 is livelier than a car and will surely make driving more enjoyable.
