In this day and age, our planet is facing acute shortage of all kind of energies and fuels and the only abundant energy provided by nature is solar energy. And today to travel in the most eco-friendly manner we have bought to you this DIY – Solar Powered Trike. Although it isn’t the correct day of the week to introduce a DIY project, but I just couldn’t let this one a miss. Just get yourself a lightweight vehicle with low rolling resistance. Any of the two, three or four wheeler will do. But this fellow over here chose a three wheeler. Prefer the one with a basket as it provides a convenient location for batteries and solar panels with minimal fabrication. This Solar Powered Trike can speed up to 15-18 mph depending how heavy a person is sitting on that seat. 
The drivetrain consists of your electrical system and electric motor. You will also need lead acid batteries and large solar panels that will maximize the available wattage correctly. 12 volt LED’s were put in the reflectors and wired as brake lights through the brake levers. Once your wires are all routed and zip tied, your batteries and panels held securely down, double check every thing and you are ready to go. When I said free in the title, I meant free fuel. Not the cost of making this green trike.
