Conservation with sanitation: Save the water that you flush down your toilet

pint urinal

Water is a resource that we believe is available in plenty, partly because we seem to believe that the water from the oceans is of some great use (which is not the case in foreseeable future) or we have scant respect for our natural sources. Fresh water is a rare commodity & if we do not learn quickly how to manage this precious resource, we could be finding ourselves in a deep hole. While I still believe that the best way to save the water that we use to flush our toilets is by using a Grey Water recycling system, here is another way in which you can try saving it.

The Zurn EcoVantageTM Ultra Water Saving Urinal System reduces water consumption by 85% compared to a typical one gallon urinal. The system uses just one pint or 0.5 liters of water for a single flush. This would actually mean that by replacing a normal urinal with one of these could save us nearly 30,000 gallons of water each year! Wow, that is a lot of water conserved, I assume.

The system is much different & far better than the flush-less oil disk using urinals. The problem with them seems to be that their oil disks have to be replaced with time. This not only is bad in terms of sanitation but also creates waste that is not bio-degradable. Just imagine what this new product could do if this new product was adopted in a large scale.
