Citroen Nemo Concetto: Disney-themed eco-friendly car

nemo1
It looks straight out of World Disney. Yeah. One look at it, and you take it for granted that Donald Duck will peep through the window any moment. And if you have seen Pixar, you wouldn’t allow anybody to try to convince you that it is not a life-size replica from the movie. In fact, the ‘Concetto’ addition, however, was clearly inspired by the animated flick. To complete the picture, it sports a cheerful orange paint job and features an interior with plastic seaweed growing from the dash, underwater-like cabin illumination and pictures of Nemo’s friends stitched in the seats.

Would you believe me if I said that this cartoony car is not only a real car called Citroen Nemo Concetto but an eco-friendly one too, emitting only 119 gm of CO2 per kilometer?

Probably not. But hey, it’s true.

The funky HDi-powered hatchback, in case you were wondering, can not dive into the water. But it is for certain that the car is effectively easy on the environment.

Citroen adds

Like the fish, Nemo Concetto can be considered as ‘small’ among its peers. However, its size is an asset, since it is able to nip in and out of traffic easily.

Citroen further mentions that, Citroen’s new entry-level light commercial model (a line-up that also includes the Berlingo, the Jumpy and the Jumper) is a compact delivery van that has one engine option that breaks the important 120 grams of CO2 per km limit.

The Nemo will be available for the public eye at the 2007 Bologna Motor Show. The Nemo is now available in Italy and Turkey and will be seen in other countries in February.

There is some speculation as to whether the name and/or the design might get them into trouble with Disney.
