Eco Factor: Low-carbon energy-efficient vessel powered by a hybrid engine.
China’s first solar-powered vessel, the Shangdeguosheng, has started its maiden voyage from Bingjiang dock under the Nanpu Bridge with a hundred travelers heading for the areas near the Shanghai Expo.
The low-carbon energy-saving vessel is equipped with high technology and sources energy from solar, lithium batteries and diesel engines. The hybrid engine allows the ship to reduce emissions by as much as 30 percent.
