Centro Ecotaller: Integrating nature into architectural design

centro1
Modern green architecture is about minimizing not just the energy needs and consumption of a building after it is fully functional, but also aims at reducing the cost and energy needs during construction as well. Designed by Yanay Mora Camacho, Centro Ecotaller aims to be a natural extension of its surroundings and does not stand out like an oddity in a natural habitat.

By creating the structure as a natural extension of its habitat (which looks easy on the eyes when it is done, but is quite a task when it comes to actually conceiving it up), Centro Ecotaller is built with locally available materials to the maximum possible extent. This reduces both energy and cost wastage in terms of transportation and building.

The exterior and interiors remind you of an ancient Oriental design that use plenty of bamboo in their make. Centro also has a similar feel with the exteriors all crafted from wood while the interiors also follow the pattern outside. With hanging lamps and furniture that follow a design that uses as many natural materials as possible, you get a feeling at times that you are inside a modified tree.

Creating energy saving techniques and integrating green features in its fabrication, Centro Ecotaller tries to create a sense of flowing spaces that seem like they are a part of the environment around. Stylish, soothing and planet-friendly Centro Ecotaller has us floored.
