The vehicle includes a steel banded rubber track system teamed up with air suspension that promises better handling. The suspension also allows the vehicle to overcome any extreme terrain with ease. The CARV is powered by a 2-liter diesel electric hybrid engine.

Electricity to power the electric motor comes from an onboard array of solar panels. Another interesting feature in the vehicle is the way injured are transported. The injured person can be strapped into a stretcher at the rear of the vehicle, which can be loaded in an out using a winch system.
