The demand for low-carbon goods are increasing everyday in the wake of global warming. To satisfy the customers with more environment-friendly products, the Carbon Trust – known to help businesses become more energy-efficient – will help companies both calculate and minimize carbon emissions created by their individual products.
Do you know, a newspaper publisher contributes around 20% of the carbon emitted in producing it? To encourage the small companies with manufacturing low-carbon products, the trust is providing them with a free service.
The Trust is expanding the scheme to work with a range of companies like Walkers crisp manufacturers and the Trinity Mirror newspaper group. It is also expanding the scheme to work with chemist retailers Boots for developing a “low carbon shampoo!”
Hope this venture of Carbon Trust will effectively add to the noble efforts to help reduce carbon emissions!
