Eco Factor: Solar farm to generate 1.18 MWh energy and reduce 16,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

Canadian Solar, one of the world’s largest solar companies in collaboration with GE Progetti & 3i has successfully completed a 1MW solar farm in Umbria, Italy. The 1 MW SOLARTA installation featuring 4,000 high-performance Canadian Solar CS6P 230-Watt modules promises an annual output of 1.18 MWh of clean energy.

The SOLARTA project built on a two-hectare rural area hasn’t used cement in order to maintain sustainability, while taking aesthetics of the landscape into consideration. In order to guarantee greater exposure to direct rays of the sun, the photovoltaic panels arranged geometrically in multiple rows are tilted at 28 degrees. Canadian Solar claims that the solar farm would reduce nearly 16,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
