Cadillac Provoq Concept – Fuel Cell powered SUV

The idea of a fuel efficient and luxurious car is on the road of getting a new job done, as it came out in CES 2008. General Motor’s E-Flex propulsion system that has been complimented perfectly well with the Cadillac Provoq fuel cell concept. The Cadillac Provoq fuel cell concept combines the new fifth generation fuel cell system and a lithium-ion battery to credit an electrically driven car that emits only water and doesn’t have any harmful emission like the petrol or diesel driven cars.

Cadillac, with its alternate fuel technology, unveiled a hydrogen fuel cell crossover vehicle that will prove the ultimate luxury car in future. Loaded with compact SUV concept, this car is much more eco-friendly than its predecessors. The compact SUV concept ensures a drive for 483 km with a single fill of hydrogen with 450 km from hydrogen and 32 km on battery electric energy. The Cadillac Provoq can run for 966 km per hour and has a top speed of over 160 km per hour.

As from the press release from Cadillac says:

The electricity generated by the fuel cell is distributed to a 70 kW co-axial drive system for the front wheels and individual, 40 kW wheel hub motors on the rear wheels, giving the Cadillac Provoq its all-wheel-drive traction and great driving dynamics.

Along with its extreme comfort levels for the passenger with enough cargo and sitting space, it looks extremely sexy with a sleek Cadillac bodywork. The roofed solar panel helps your entertainment accessories. Front grille louvers keep your fuel cell cool, with its close and open option with high and slow speed drive, respectively.
This is definitely the crusader, of what can be called the next generation of fuel cell electric vehicle, promising luxurious and eco-friendly rides.
