Building Pipeline to carry Greenhouse Gas from planned clean coal plants to aging oilfields!

planned clean coal plants 9

To help combat global warming, Illinois is planning to build a pipeline for carrying greenhouse gas carbon dioxide from planned clean coal plants to aging oilfields, as greenhouse gas carbon dioxide can be captured at power plants, then pumping it through the proposed pipeline to be entombed deep underground.

This carbon-capturing technology can be applied to plants that gasify coal, or those that run on natural gas.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich has released an energy plan earlier this year, which calls for 10 coal gasification plants over the next 10 years! In building a network of CO2 pipelines with the state, Blagojevich is also trying to measure corporate interest.

Thus, this venture builds great industrial plants, without straining the environment apparently.
