Eco Factor: Solar power project to provide 10MW of renewable electric power.

BlueChip Energy has announced that the company has started working on the first phase of another solar power project in Florida. The plant, dubbed Rinehart Solar Farm, will be located in the central part of the state in Lake Mary.

The energy generated by the project will be sufficient to power 1100 average homes and the energy will be sold under a power purchase agreement to Progress Energy Florida. The first phase of the project, which calls for a solar roof array, will generate about 120KW of power and is expected to be completed by July.

The next stage of the project will generate 500KW of electricity and later stages call for a 1.4MW rooftop solar array followed by 8MMW of ground-based PV arrays.
