energy efficient building

High profile sustainability strategies are becoming the buzzword for some of the world’s leading banks to it make good business sense. October last year, HSBC, one of the world’s biggest banks, announced that it had gone ‘carbon neutral’ – it had cut its carbon dioxide emissions to zero by a combination of reducing energy consumption.

And now, the UK’s Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) is currently cladding its headquarters in Manchester in a mosaic of photovoltaic panel tiles in the largest vertical solar panel project in Europe. Bank of America too, is building what it claims is the world’s most environmentally friendly skyscraper in Manhattan, with a green roof, an advanced cogeneration plant.
