Architecture students Seth Ellsworth and JaYoung Kim were literally influenced by Mumbai and as a whole India’s bittersweet vibrancy – be it the inexpensive and conveniently priced Tata Nano Cars, or the seriously futile state of Mumbai’s current transit system. Taking both of these polar opposite situations into consideration, they have come with a magnanimous yet progressive proposition to design the radical TATA Tower.

This significant proposal of a mega tower aims to fulfill several important criteria regarding zone distribution and optimum space utilization. First of all, this imposing structure will have ‘mixed usage’ zoning, that is – it would incorporate both residential and office units for TATA employees. Secondly a whole new enterprising concept for a vertical high density parking lot will be integrated that can park 4050 cars! Moreover, according to their estimates the structure can hold 930 residential units.

But it is not all about structural magnificence; this aspiring design will also make use of ardent eco-friendly attributes. Expansive parks and green spaces will bedeck the already vivacious atmosphere, finally culminating in an impressive turf for an urban algae farm, for generation of clean and green energy! We would surely and eagerly await its inception, which can positively redefine India’s position as one of the patrons for advanced ‘green’ technology.
