There are some smart ideas and then there are those that seem plain crazy. We like to call the plain crazy ones here on Ecofriend ‘Futuristic’. But this one for me is way beyond that. I though that the future cleaning systems use water, they do so even in the Jetsons. But this one dry cleans your clothes without water or detergent in your own home with ionized air and all this while you sit on it watching your Saturday night fight! This, if true, could really change the way we look at cleaning and of course would kill that ‘dry wash’.
Designed by Harsha Vardhan from New Delhi, India, the Alternative Clothes Cleaner is a conceptual washing machine that doubles as a large seat. It has two modes, active and passive, though both will allow you to sit atop the unit. No detergent or water necessary here, either — the inner chamber acts as a pressure washer and cleans the clothes with ionized air instead. That means no drying, too.
I still always wonder how ‘Dry Cleaning’ takes place. Just never understood how cleaning can be dry and if it is dry then is it ever completely clean! Anyway, the idea by Harsha is clean and simple and it shouts out style with ergonomics. Hopefully this will be more than a concept and will be out there in the stores soon… very soon!
