With Olympics right around the corner, the Volkswagen Group did the right thing by becoming the automobile partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. These cars will be used as official vehicles for the world’s event. The cars carry a special design which features the Olympic tradition with symbols that represent the concepts of “mobility”, “wind” and “street”.
Chosen models are the Sagitar 1.4 TSI, the Touran EcoFuel (bifuel CNG/gasoline), Tiguan 2.0 TDI, Magotan 2.0 TDI and Magotan BlueMotion. Magotan is a locally-produced version of the VW Passat and the Sagitar is the name used to identify the Jetta. With the Chinese folks going crazy and buying a fair share of Olympic merchandise who knows whether VW would actually release these cars for sales with the Olympic branding attached!
