Solar Generators That Mimic Real Flowers

With the twin threat of global warming and climate change looming large over our head, people are more and more moving towards cleaner and greener sources of power to fulfill their daily needs. Solar power is one such renewable sources of power which has great potentiality for producing clean– electricity to power our future needs. Solar energy generators like photovoltaic cells (PV cells) have already gained much popularity worldwide for their efficiency in producing clean electricity. But manufacturers of solar generators are coming up with new and innovative ideas everyday to make solar power even more attractive for people. They have now come up with solar energy generators which mimic real flowers. These flowery solar generators are as much a treat to the eye as they are for the environment.

Solar Generators That Mimic Real Flowers

Power Flower is a new and innovative wind turbine which is both efficient and looks much better than traditional wind turbines. Power Flower’s efficiency can be gauged from the fact that it can generate energy in areas where the wind speed is as low as 2 mph, whereas, more conventional wind turbines require a higher wind speed to generate energy. Power Flower is easy to install and can easily be used in urban areas since it makes very little noise compared to conventional wind turbines. Power Flower is extremely cost effective and each unit of Power Flower is capable of giving an output of 400W.

Solar Powered Cooker:

This device, which resembles a sun flower, is actually a cooker designed for your daily cooking needs. Designed by Koo Ho Shin, this cooker cooks everything using only solar power. The petals of this “flowery” cooker are actually fanned reflectors which can be adjusted at any angle for optimum focusing of solar energy onto the glass cooking platform. The cooker can also be easily dismantled making it easy to store it.

iPetals:

iPetals is actually a charging device for iPhones. But the unique thing about iPetals is that it uses solar energy to charge iPhones. Designed by Mac Funamizu, the iPetals doubles as a stand for iPhones apart from charging them.

Flower Cell:

Designed by industrial designer Alan Rios, the Flower Cell is a charger which can charge most of your portable electronic devices using solar power as the source of energy. Any portable electronic device which charges using a USB port, can be charged by Flower Cell. The petals of this flower shaped charger carry flexible solar panels which help in harnessing the solar energy into an internal battery.

Solar Sunflower Field:

This Solar Sunflower Field is located in Austin, Texas which helps in generating energy from the sun rays. It has been designed by the design team of Harris/Hedder. The Solar Sunflower Field has a total of 15 of these sunflower shaped photovoltaic towers.

Power Flowers of David Edwards:

David Edwards, an artist from Pennsylvania, has created a solar flower shaped wind turbine cum solar generator. The energy generated from this unique Power Flower goes both into a battery as well as LED bulbs. The energy generated can be used to power laptops, cell phones and other electronic devices.

Sunflower solar power station:

The Sunflower solar power station generates energy using solar power through three built in power sockets. On top it has a solar panel which receives solar energy throughout the day and built in rechargeable batteries powers electronic devices throughout the night. The system has been designed by Ricardo Baiao.

Solar Plant:

The Solar Plant is a flower pot shaped charger that can charge all your electronic appliances using solar power. The top of the Solar Plant has a set of solar panels for transferring energy of the sun’s rays into electricity. The system has been designed by Ku Bon Seop of South Korea and it is capable of charging almost all types of electronic gadgets.

Flower Power battery charger:

This flower shaped battery charger uses solar energy to charge electronic devices of all kinds. This system has been designed by Brian Borja. When exposed to the sun the petals of this “electronic flower” opens up to take in energy of the sun’s rays. Once the battery inside the charger is full, the petals of this “flower’ closes and it gets ready to charge all types of electronic devices.

Solar Wi-Fi Flowers from Toyota:

Toyota planted these electronic daisies in many cities of the US to promote their 3rd generation Prius launch. These are 18 feet long solar power charging stations which also has room for 10 people to sit. The Prius solar flowers can charge all types of electronic gadgets like cellphones, laptops and many more. Apart from charging electronic devices the Prius also provides people with a place where they can get Wi-Fi access.
